"Improv Everywhere"

ArtRageous, Pocket Productions' spontaneous art series, was inspired by the works of this New York based public performance group. Have you ever seen YouTube videos of hundreds of people freezing in crowded places? People breaking into song in grocery stores and subways? Hundreds of people walking into Best Buy dressed like employees? If you have, you've seen events either created or inspired by Improv Everywhere.

On April 5, Pocket Productions in collaboration with the Friends of RCPL brought Improv Everywhere to South Carolina for a public performance of 'The MP3 Experiment' at the Urban Tour. Charlie Todd is the founder of this internationally renowned prank collective. He received a very warm welcome from The State, the Free Times, and many others who enjoyed learning this very exciting bit of information about Columbia, SC.

Special thanks to our sponsors, the City of Columbia, the Knight Foundation via the Central Carolina Community Foundation, Richland County the merchants on Main Street (ten businesses including Frame of Mind, S&S Art Supply, the Free Times, Wine Down on Main, Balancing Energies, Pia's, Paradise Ice, Tapp's Art Center; full list to follow), Robin Dial, Todd and Moore, WXRY and Jasper Magazine.

Improv Everywhere is a New York City-based prank collective that causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places.
